Continuity

recently i’ve started reviewing Bytejacker a newly acquired Revision3 show. now i’m no gamer (he says in pajamas around 11am), but i do enjoy the occasional bout of recluse activity with the newest Zelda epic. this weeks Free Indi-RapidFire includes a link to the igf video game competition. the student selections are available and have a nice feel. in particular we (the small person and i) enjoyed Continuity. a puzzle/platformer with sliding tiles you must navigate through to grab key(s) and unlock the door to the next level. there are some real mind benders here. game play is simple and intuitive. this isn’t a marathon gaming experience but it will kill a few hours. even my seven year old enjoyed this puzzler.

movie, review G-Force

with comedic names this big how can you go so wrong?

g-force takes what was obviously intended as a G rated movie and twists it into an all too predictable plot designed to entertain with special effects. the problem here might be the lack of improvisation from the cast. this may not be the case, but nothing comes out as spontaneous through out the movie.

mid-way though the movie i found myself dozing off with no real desire to maintain focus. my lack of consciousness mid-movie might have impacted the overall comprehension, but after a quick quiz to the 7-year old it seemed nothing was missed.

i hope to never see this flick again, and can’t imagine why i spent matinee money on such an obviously summer movie.

in the September edition of WIRED magazine (16.09) we discover how Shai Agassi plans to merge cellphone plans with the electric car. his business strategy lacks a profit model, yet sets one lofty goal - eliminate the largest source of carbon pollution… internal combustion cars. read the details and how he’s funding this project at wired.com

i found his idea exciting and practical. although the company gives the feeling of skeletons in the closet, his idea seems to be revolutionary and practical at the same moment. if his two experimental countries work out then we could have our only island state onboard within the decade. goodbye oil, hello no-contract cars!
